Crispy Kale Chips

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 10 - 15 minutes

Makes: Approximately 2 cups

Ingredients:
  • 1 bunch of kale

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Pinch of salt

How To:
  1. Wash kale leaves and dry well (using a salad spinner, clean towel or paper towel). 

  2. Remove the stems and have your child rip apart kale leaves in approximately palm sized or 2 inch chunks and place them in a bowl. 

  3. Drizzle with 1 tbsp of olive oil and have your child toss the kale leaves with the oil. 

  4. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and mix the kale leaves. 

  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and have your child spread the kale leaves out onto the baking sheet. 

  6. Bake in a preheated 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 10-15 minutes or until edges are brown. Watch carefully that the leaves do not burn. 

  7. Enjoy as a crunchy snack!

Make it Fun!

Let your child come up with different seasonings to flavour the kale chips! Parmesan, all dressed and salt and vinegar are child-friendly crowd pleasers.

Leftovers will keep in an airtight container for 3-5 days.
