Green Bean Fries
Make it Fun!

Experiment with different flavourings by using different herbs, spices and cheeses. You can also switch it up by pairing the green beans with different dips such as hummus or tzatziki. 

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Makes: 4 servings

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tbsp water

  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Pinch of salt and pepper

  • 225 g green beans, stem ends removed

How To:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. 

  2. Have your child beat the egg with water in a shallow dish. 

  3. In another shallow dish, have your child add the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper. 

  4. Have your child dip the green beans in the egg mixture, coating them fully. 

  5. Dip the green beans in the cheese mixture and have your child roll to evenly coat them. 

  6. Transfer the green beans to the prepared baking sheets and spread them into a single layer. 

  7. Bake for 10 minutes until golden brown and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. 

  8. Enjoy as a healthy alternative to french fries! Leftovers will keep in an airtight container for 2-3 days. 

For Leftovers... 

Cut into chunks and add to a healthy salad for an added crunch!
