Makes: 6 servings
1 lb (454 g) extra lean ground beef
1 packet of taco seasoning
6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
2 diced tomatoes
½ cup (125 ml) shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
Spray a non-stick pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat.
Add ground beef and taco seasoning (use as directed). Stir and sauté until no pink color remains, about 8 minutes.
Serve taco beef over a bed of lettuce and tomatoes. Top with cheese, sour cream and any other additional toppings.
Make it Fun!
Put the taco salad on a long piece of lettuce and let the little chef’s play with their “lettuce boats!”
Use the taco salad as a pizza topping or make into a burrito and freeze for later!
